LA indie-rock band, Foster The People, has received much attention, when their single "Pump Up Kicks," went viral online in 2010.Now the band is  Country songs currently touring and promoting their highly anticipated new album, torches, which was published in May. MarkFoster, singer and songwriter, took time to talk about the band, the tour and its growing success.

She moved from Cleveland, OH to Los Angeles when she was 18. It seems that such a step for a young classical musician, with bright eyes, but you've got the job. How did you a big step in this relatively young age and how a city that so many other musiciansvie for success set?

I've always been very independent growth. I wanted that to be my parents buy me  Country songs an apartment. I have been to him was that I like,"Please, please, will do. What do you guys fill up the fridge, and I'll be fine."

You know, the setting for the city, it took a long time. I moved to Los Angeles in 2002. It takes all the time, you know? I moved to LosAngeles and wanted to learn to write. Led by singer-songwriter, but crisp witty, subtle synth addict and Mark Foster, Foster's people are young, impetuous and responsible for the infectious track "Pumped Up Kicks", which is now available on KROQ Top 10 most played list, and one of the fast summer of 2011 hymns.

While KROQ Nicole Alvarez interviewed frontman last month in the back of Foster's KROQ, we followed them as they start their national tour - sold in most big cities - on March 8 in Soho in Country songs  Santa Barbara.

Since the live set is now five people, we talked with the original three: Mark Foster, drummer Mark Pontius, Cubbie Fink and bassist in their highly anticipated album, flashlights, due out May 24 and grabbed some recordings live their energetic live show heavy gear.

Our main take-away? Their live set 'promotes' a fun, fist pumping dance party (during the "Pumped Up Kicks", sing along with the audience.) But under the People Foster fun, synth-pop exterior, have the depth and soul band. I also managed to keep refreshing modesty and down to earth relaxed humor have taken place despite the crowds so his life from the foundation of the band, 2009.

KROQ: Soon it will be your first full-length album out May 24 What is your favorite track?

Mark Pontius: A song called "Call it what you want." And 'what we have is with Paul Epworth (Bloc Party producer, Adele and Cee-Lo Green.)

Cubbie: Me too. But the nice thing about this album, I think that's really what we are as a band. We all have very eclectic tastes in music and in our lives exploring Taylor Swift Songs various genres. In many ways, the music is cool, but also has a strange familiarity, it feels like the first, because they have heard of some many different places by train.

KROQ: often labelmates MGMT, Phoenix, Peter, Bjorn & John, etc. with respect, how does it feel?

AN INTERVIEW WITH FOSTER THE PEOPLE

Over the past couple of years, a collection of tunes developed among a trio of friends who intended nothing other than to express a love and enjoyment for music, never realizing the mounting buzz that they were about to face. There is an effervescent appeal to Foster The People. The music envelops an instantaneous burst of pleasant excitement, and yet contains an elusive intrigue that incorporates the deeper elements of each song's purpose, pulling in audiences from every direction. Though a relatively new group, Foster The People continue to execute accomplishments that have molded layer after layer of promise for the band. Torches, their first album's debut, is only now two weeks away, but it is most likely this is not the first you've heard of them, and certainly won't be the last.

During a recent interview with frontman Mark Foster, he tells Baeble about the band's basic beginnings. "Mark (Pontius) and Cubbie are basically just friends of mine" he says simply. After hanging out with the two individually in Los Angeles, Foster quickly learned of their music experience and brought them together, leading to the creation of Foster The People. Initially, Mark tells us, Pontius and Cubbie Fink "didn't move to LA to pursue music, they moved here for film school". Thus, the birth of the band truly came from a labor of love with no other motive than to play music for the sake of exploring a genuine passion. Due to the undercurrent of this heart that the band possesses, things have rapidly grown into a truly exciting direction.

But underneath Foster The People’s jolly, synth-pop exterior, the band members have depth and wit. They’ve also managed to retain modesty and refreshing down-to-earth laid back humor despite the crazy track their lives have taken since the band formed October 2009.
